You’re then asked to caption a short video (generally around 3 minutes long) using their style guide which is attached to your application so that they can see how you do and what you have to offer as a Revver. You receive an email within the next few days after submitting your application whether or not you got the job and the steps moving forward if it was approved.

How Does It Work?

Sounds easy enough right? Rev and their employees are great at explaining how to transcribe and caption, especially if you’ve never done it before! They have caption and style guides easily available, and helpful videos that describe the whole process. In your account you have a Find Work tab that leads you to all of the available work opportunities, which clearly displays what subject the video is, its duration, how much you’ll make, and when it’s due. There is a time limit after you claim it where you have the chance to unclaim the project in case you can’t finish it by the time it’s due or if something comes up that makes you not be able to complete it.

Will I Qualify? How Do I Get Paid?

Don’t worry if your skills aren’t as fine tuned as you would like once you start as a Rookie, every time you submit one of your projects, it is always checked by an official Revver and you get graded on your work. Even if you made mistakes, you still get paid!

They tell you what you need to work on, provide resources to help, and clearly lay out how you’re performing as a Rookie and evaluate how you’re progressing on becoming a Revver. They work fast at doing so, sending you the money you earned through Paypal within days of submitting.
