Uber closes greenlight hubs for drivers amid COVID-19 outbreak On Friday, March 13th, 2020 Uber announced that it would be temporarily closing it’s local support centers to protect drivers and its staff. This is to remain in effect until April 6th, unless otherwise stated.
Riders Can Now Discreetly Report Drivers During Trips
The next phase of the battle between service user and service provider comes with Uber’s new reporting feature (released in the US & Canada in February 2020), which allows riders to report driver issues in real-time during their trip.
Uber Will Start Recording Audio on Some Rides
With the release of Uber’s 2017-2018 safety report, some alarming statistics have made their way to the surface. Most notably, it shows that riders aren’t the only ones being assaulted during trips. According to the data provided by Uber, a shocking 42 percent of reported sexual assaults were drivers.
